To enjoy a cosy fire there is a starter pack of logs and kindling to get you going is in the log basket.
Please take care when using the wood burner and do not leave a fire burning unattended.
- Open the stove door by twisting the handle downwards and pulling the door towards you. Note – once the fire has been burning, the handle and door can be hot, so take care doing this and use the fire mitt provided.
- Put the kindling on top of the firelighter, light the firelighter and away you go.
- Leave the door of the stove cracked open by 5cms for 30 seconds or so, until the fire starts to take hold. Then close the door and make sure that both air-vents are fully opened (Chrome bars at the bottom of the fire).
- Once the kindling has started to burn well you can place the larger logs onto the fire. Add only one or two logs at a time.
- When the fire is burning you can adjust the air-vents to control the intensity of the flame:
- The Primary Air Control (the lever on the left) regulates the air drawn into the heart of the fire. Closing this (by pushing the lever in) will reduce the airflow and hence will reduce the intensity of the fire. You may wish to do this once the fire is well established so that it continues to burn more slowly and hence for longer.
- The Air Wash Control (the level on the right) regulates the air that is drawn down along the glass door. This helps to make sure that soot does not build up on the glass. Please always leave this partially open as it will ensure that you can continue to see the fire burning beautifully.
